Hi Folks,

I'm a bit of a beginner with quickbooks so unsurprisingly have a
question...

I download my transaction history from the bank, then go through and
match the transactions in with all those in my register. On a
particular day a while back I had two bankcard transactions, one for
$200 and one for $1295. These were both customer payments, which I
recorded as customer payments. Because of this these show up as two
seperate entries in my register.
The bankcard transactions are processed at the end of teh day though
and are all lumped into a single transaction, meaning that at the end
of the day there is a $1495 deposit to our bank account.

I've trying to match all the downloaded transactions, but because I
can't figure out how to match the $1495 to the $1295 and $200 I'm a
little stuck. Is there a way to do what i'm shooting for, or does it
sound like i'm going about things the wrong way?

Thanks.

One method would be to post the 2 payments to Undeposited Funds as you
intially record them. Then go to Bank>>Make Deposits and select these 2
payments and deposit them into your bank account. Using this method you will
see the single, combined entry in your account register.
