Messed up invoice numbers....

I had to amend an invoice for a customer, so I created a new invoice,
and numbered it 1409A.

Now that number appears as the default every time I create a new
invoice.

How do I get back to having Quickbooks assign a sequential number?

Create an invoice and *SAVE* it with the next number.

thanks for the tip, but...

I created a new invoice, changed the # to the next sequential # (no A
suffix), saved it, and now that's the new default, but it doesn't
increment......

Ideas?
