A customer wants a new installation of QuickBooks Premier 2009
Accountants Edition. They need two simultaneous users. Will this version
work on a peer-to-peer (non-server) installation? Both computers are XP.
If so, what is the procedure for obtaining the second user license if
the software is purchased from Amazon?

The accountant said that Intuit told her that the retail versions of the
software with the same name are actually crippled versions. Is there any
truth to that? If so, where are the full versions?

It's been at least five years since I worked with a multiple user
installation of QuickBooks.

Intuit ships only crippled versions of their software to retail outlets.
Only Amazon can be depended upon to supply the real deal. Stay away from all
retail outlets, only shop at Amazon for all your needs.

Michelle, are you saying that the retail versions are NOT crippled? If
so, that statement is in disagreement with Haskel LaPort.

Also, any comments on multi-user licensing?

No, the retail versions are NOT crippled.

You will need to either purchase a multi user copy of Premier or buy a
second copy so that you have 2 distinct licenses.

Is there a reason that you need Premier? For most busineses, Pro meets their
needs. And it is a lot cheaper.
