I'm running QB 2005 Pro. I'm trying to do a bank reconcilation but the
opening balance is a long way out from the figure on my bank
statement. Is it possible to go back one bank reconciliation at a time
to find out when the error came in? I tried a "locate discrepancy" but
it only found very small errors.

Cheers
Peter

In the newer versions of QB you can undo the last bank rec. I don't
think that feature was available in 2005. Try looking at the voided/
deleted transactions report (under reports, accountant & taxes) and
see if that might help you find the problem.

It was there in 2006 so maybe it was also in 2005. I thought I had 2005
installed on this machine but I was wrong. 2006 is my oldest version
currently installed.

Go to reconcile the account and hit Locate discrepancies. Here you will be
given the option to undo last reconciliation. If it was available in 2005
this is where you will find it.
