Possible way around printing problems... Mike 08-26-2008

I have several users scattered around TX & OK that are accessing
Quickbooks via a Terminal Server.
Printing is becoming a major thorn in my side, as alot of these new-
fangled printers don't play well in a TS environment.
I am looking for a way to automate a process, where when a user prints
a report, invoice, or whatever, it will create a pdf & give them to
email it to themselves, customers, or whoever they choose.
Is this possible & if so, any suggestions on getting it in the works?

How about installing something like CutePDF setup as their default printer?
All print jobs would go to PDF files. They have the option to mail it to
themselves or a customer.

Another printer solution might be Printer Anywhere
http://www.printeranywhere.com/ to allow users to print to remote printers
or to print to a local printer when connected remotely to a client's
computer.

That's what I'm talking about.
Have you used it?
Set up John Q Salesman's printer on the Terminal Server & then when he
prints from Quickbooks, it would give him the option to print to the
remote printer at his home?

I have used it in the past. Works okay once it is set up.

Personally, I like Win2PDF http://www.daneprairie.com/

It saves the document as a PDF file and attaches itself to an email message
ready to send, couldn't be easier for the user. QuickBooks will remember
the last printer used on the type of transaction, so as long as the user
doesn't change, it will always be used.
