QB 99 to QB 99, not so simple! DaveC 01-12-2007

Hi,

I have been using QB 99 (on old Win2000 computer) for years and no problems.

I just moved the program to a new WinXP computer. OK, I guess, except the
installation routine did not terminate automatically.

QB 99 seems to run. But I cannot restore my QB data from the old computer.
QB 99 on new computer claims that data from old computer was in a new format
which it cannot understand!

Thanks for any ideas,

DaveC

Download the R4 patch for QB99 from Intuit:

Thanks Klunk,

The R4 patch enables me to work with old QB99 files on new XP computer!

I checked the Intuit website and searched for the patch. Couldn't find it.
I presume that Intuit is not interested in helping people use old software.

I have QB2000 and saved the 6 MB file 'update80r10.exe' Everything
running fine on XP.

Just trying to check if there is anything else I can only get to 8r8.
Changing the above updates numeral does not bring any results so I
presume that to get to 8r10 some of the letters must be changed.
(I am pretty sure there was no further than 8r10 updates.)
Also, mine is the Canadian version.
