That's a question for Intuit.

Quite possible, especially if they have a local distribution channel for
SA in general/Brazil in particular, they could restrict US market copies.

Excellent broad band internet connection here in Brazil with no
restrictions. Several years ago I bought a new version of QB and
couldn't register it because I was outside the States.

*******

That has not changed with the current version. You need to supply a phone
number and zip code to register the product. This would require you to be in
the US to supply this information.

Once registered you shouldn't have problems getting updates UNLESS the
update process checks your location via the IP address you have.

I would call Intuit and ask them. Use the pre-sales folks so that they don't
try and charge you for support.
