Please log in for more thread options >>> Good evening from Wisconsin,
>>>
>>> I have a client who currently uses QuickBooks Premier 2008 on one PC
>>> and would like to now use it from four different PCs. The employees
>>> on those PCs have different working hours so the QuickBooks data files
>>> will only be open from one PC at a time.
>>>
>>> I have moved the data files from the original PC and installed the
>>> network server portion of QuickBooks Premier 2008 to a server running
>>> Windows Server 2003. The client version of QuickBooks Premier 2008
>>> has been left on the original PC, and accessibility to the data files
>>> on the server have been verified.
>>>
>>> The client found a great deal at a local retailer for three copies of
>>> QuickBooks Simple Start 2008 at $9.99ea (a typo in their inventory
>>> database perhaps) and had me install it on the other three PCs. When
>>> I go to access the QuickBooks company file, I receive an error
>>> indicating invalid permissions but as I have verified accessibility
>>> with the existing QuickBooks Premier copy, my suspicion is that data

>>>
>>> However, I cannot find any documentation that would indicate such an
>>> incompatibility. Can I please be pointed to such a reference, if it

Also since only one user will be accessing the file at one time there is no
need to have the file hosted.
The file can physically be located on the server but there is no need for a
database engine running on the server.
