When I start QB and choose the file I want to open I receive the
following message:

"Runtime error!
Program: C:/Program Files/Intuit/QuickBooks 2005/qbw32.exe
abnormal program termination"

I thought I could repair the installation but QB wants to install Flash
7 and that errors out because I have Flash 9 installed which is
required by other software I am using. Thank you for your assistance.

Is the file you are tying to open on a different hosted computer by
any chance? If so, you might want to make sure the shared folder is
mapped as a drive on the client. I was getting that error when first
setting up as a host/2 client setup.

No, everything is on one PC. If this not not a fixable problem; what
files do I need to copy to a second PC to open my Quickbooks file on
it?

Install QB on the other computer, upgrade it to same version as your
file, and then the only file you need to move is
"<yourcompanyname>.qbw"

I had a similar problem with lovely Quickbooks a while back.
Quickbooks keeps trying to open your company file and there is
something wrong with it so it crashes. You can't get QB opened to do a
rebuild so you are stuck.

There is a hotkey - CTRL 1, CTRL F1, esc or something that you can do
when starting quickbooks so it won't try and open up the file it last
opened.

Once you can get QB opened you can do a rebuild on your file and you
should be set.
