Is it ok to run 2005 on one networked PC while the other PC is on
version 2006? The database will be shared? Thanks.

Quickbooks isn't backwards compatible. If you open a company file using
2006 then it'll no longer open in 2005.

I beg to differ - depending on country.

In Canada at least, QB 2006 and QB 2005 data files are "interchangeable",
i.e. created in either version, can be opened in either version, at any
time.

So, you will be able to open the same data file with either QB 2005 or QB
2006, but I have no answer whether you ***might*** be able to open the same
data file ***simultaneously*** with both versions.
