I see the latest version of Quickbooks is out. Does anyone see a reason to
upgrade. There does not seem to be much new in this release, except the
ability to email invoices and estimates from Outlook instead of Intuit's
servers.

Please log in for more thread options I've noticed some prices on Quickbooks Pro and Premier 2007 have dropped
some since 2008 is out.

That's what I mean. I think I saw Pro 2007 on sale for $120 the other
day.

There is a bit of an issue here.
1. Invariably, the first release of QB for a given year has to be
patched & modified like crazy. The early adopters are, in effect, beta
testers. Kinda like the old saying that you can tell who the pioneers
are by the arrows stuck in them.
I have been using QB since the Win 3.1 days and would never install a
new version until after the first major patch - usually in mid- to
late-January. FWIW.
2. On the other hand, given Intuit's "Sunset" policy for support, if
you buy 2008 today, vs. 2007, you get an additional year of support
down the road.
Not an easy choice, but I would probably wait until January to install
& migrate data over, and would probably go with 2008 for the support
issue noted above. If you can truly sent invoices through Outlook
without involving Intuit, that would be enough for me to make the
move.
Also, I would double-check the $120 on 2007 to make sure that it was
not an upgrade price.
For Phil, there were some major changes in Data entry & information
screens after 2005 that would make it a good time to upgrade, subject
to the caveat above.
The other issue is that 2007 & above are the only versions that will
run under Vista, so that may be factor in your decisions, as well.
