Got the email today. Laundry list of things they say may not work. What was
missing was any mention of any fixes. What was said, *UPGRADE NOW* or you'll be
sorry! I take this as we know it's broken and the fix is for you to fork over
$$$$$ to upgrade. So Sorry! It costs us too much money to support the programs
we release.

Lets face it guys. Intuit is not a customer friendly company. Their
marketing is geared to getting users to update the core program every
single year. The last time I upgraded I had special coupons and rebates
that allowed me to get the program at a very low cost. I stopped paying
them for the tax table updates-another huge ripoff. I use paycyle for
the the payroll and it does a much better job allowing beasy reporting,
direct deposits and electronic paying of taxes etc.

I go way back with computers. Intuit in the 1980s and later wa sthe
most customer friendly company with great free tech support etc. They
called microsoft a monopoly and then when quickbooks an quicken became
big, everything changed. Quickbooks 2006 should be able to run in
Vista, download transactions etc. The only reason is Intuit doesnt
care.

While there have been some issues, I've been running vista on my production
machines since RC1 (and have been running RTM since the end of November) . I
find Vista to be quite stable and responsive, with very few issues (here, at
least). Much of my software still works fine. As I mentioned in another post
to this thread, I switched to QBP07, but think that if I had the time to
devote, I could figure out the issues I discussed.

I have heard some of the 'news' you speak of, but there are many that aren't
having issues with it. A lot may depend on your hardware and the drivers
available and the install. Those who do upgrades may also emphasize issues
that traveled with the upgrade. At any rate, YMMV, but I find it
disappointing when I have to go back to one of my XP machines. No bad news
here.

Bad news? I have heard mostly praise about the operating system.

I've been running the Betas and RCs, and there is a lot to like
about Vista. But there are also some things that aren't so great.
Here's a sampling:
