I want to give our Quickbooks data file to a vendor who is going to prepare
some reports from 2008 from it, but I don't want to give out the 2009 data
to that vendor. Is there a way for me to prepare a copy of the data file
and delete all data from 2009 in the copy?

Is there a third party utility that might help in preparing the file?

Why not just prepare the reports for the vendor yourself and hand the
printouts to them?

Restore a file from the year-end backup file. (You _DID_ make regular
backups, I know you did...)

Alternatively, does this vendor have to have the QB file itself; if not
export to XLS?

Note that this program should not be used to lop off the front end of a file
to reduce its size.
