I need to start a new QB file, as my old account is 13 years old, and aside
from that, I changed from a sole proprietership to an LLC.
I don't keep customers in QB, and I only have about 6 vendors. What is the
best way, under my circumstances, to start the new file and carry over the
necessary data such as vendor balances.
I would like to carry over categories, accounts and names if possible, but I
suppose I can just deal with entering them again as needed. What would be
the best way to handle starting the new account under my circumstances?
Thanks,
James

Talk to your accountant, setting up a new file may not really be required.
As sole proprierership you report your income on schedule C, as an LLC with
only one owner nothing really changes, you report the income on schedule C.

Hi Allan,
Thanks for the response. It has been suggested by my CPA that I do start a
new file, plus this one gets kind of bogged down on start up. I guess the
main issue is dealing with re-doing the categories. There is software that
is supposed to handl this here:
http://www.qbmoveit.com/
Have you had any experience with this?
Thanks again,
James
