Using Premeir Accountant 2007 release 6.
Peer-to-peer XP network to a Cisco router with a USB connected HDD as
the share.
Using the old Quickbooks 2003 version I have NO trouble backing up the
files to the HDD share over the network. When I "upgraded" to the
Premeir 2007 version (new install) I cannot backup to the HDD share.
I get an error stating that the user may not have proper permissions
or access rights.
I can backup to a local drive or to a USB drive attached to the
computer.
I called Quickbooks support and they said they know of the problem, it
used to be much worse with earlier releases (some could not backup the
desktop!), and they do not have a solution now.
I and they seem to agree that it is a timeout error or latency issue.
If I could find a registry entry to modify a latency timeout for the
QB backup I could probably solve the problem but QB support said there
is not one!
Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance. //ED
