Hi,
We have Quickbooks V6 Pro
I am suddenly getting an error message when I try to do an Aging Summary
under Accounts Payable in Purchases and Vendors. I also get the error when
trying to do a bank reconciliation.

It starts building the report and with the summary it gets to about 16%
searching and then I get a Fatal Error
V6.0U R15 (M=1477, L=5583, C=43, V=2 (2))

I click OK and then quickbooks aborts and I get the message qbw32.exe fatal
Appliction Exit.

Hopefully I can recover this!

I have tried reinstalling the program from the original disc and loading the
backup on but I get a message telling me that the backup was produced on a
new version?

Cheers

When you reinstalled the program you also needed to apply the service packs
to bring the product back to "R15". If you can not find the service pack
then you will probably stuck with upgrading.

That is definitely an older version (if you are from the US)

The reason you are getting the message, after you did the reinstall, is
because the file has been updated, as updates were applied to your version
of QuickBooks. In other words, the file has been updated, and will no longer
work with a fresh install. You must apply all updates to that version.

You may be able to update your version of QuickBooks by doing an auto
update, you may have to manually download and install updates. I'm not sure
what updates are available for that version any longer

Hi,
After I loaded the old version on it immediately downloaded some updates and
installed them. I didn't try recovering the data until after that but it
still didn't work. (UK version)

Use the Ctrl-1 combo to see what release those updates brought you up to.
Your version is so old that the automatic updates might not be available. I
would go searching the UK Intuit support pages to see if you can find manual
updates.
