Hi everyone -

I'm a novice QB 2008 user... and cannot figure out how to do get this
report to run.

I am wanting to run a quickreport on a particular Account (using
LISTS>CHART OF ACCOUNTS, then selecting the account, then hitting the
QUICKREPORT button). I'll call this account "CHECKING ACCOUNT A."

Then once that report is run, I only want to see items that are
pertaining to one account, let's call it "SMITH". So all I want to
see in the report are the transactions that are designated SMITH
(account SMITH), in CHECKING ACCOUNT A.

how do I do this? I would think it's simple??? But I am clueless...

FYI, the CHECKING ACCOUNT A is set up as a "bank" account and the
SMITH account is set up as an "other current asset" account.

Thanks... desperate.....

I don't see a report available to get what you want. Basically you want to
run a report using account AND split as filters but I don't see that
possible. Other possible approach would be to filter on Name. Run the report
and then click on Modify Report. Go to the Filter tab and specify a name to
filter on..

Or try this ....open up the bank account register and find a SMITH
transaction. Highlight that transaction and select Quick report or CTRL Q.
This will show you all checking account transactions hitting the SMITH
account. You could also approach it from the other direction by opening up
the SMITH account and running a report on all Checking account transactions.

What is the purpose of the report? Perhaps the information you need can be
obtained using a method that does not revolve around the convoluted report
you mention.
