You aren't just double click on the file name are you? You can do
that with a Word or Excel file and it will start the program.
However, that will NOT work with QB files. You need to start QB and
then select File, Open or Restore and select the file name from
there. I hope that helps.

Oops--in my last reply I was talking about qbb or qbm files that you
have to be in the QB Program to open. When you double click on the
qbw it should open in the last version of QB that is was opened in--so
if you updated the file & used it in 2008, then it would now open in
2008.

*******
That's how it is supposed to work. Can you think of any reason why I get an
error message on a 2007 qbw file but the 2008 works as expected?

What's the error?

As for a reason, I can think of several--the first being that something
in the '08 file format isn't compatible w/ '07.

I had my QB versions messed up. I forgot that 2008 is only installed on my
other computer.

It was 2006 (did not work) & 2007 (worked). And of course, I can't replicate
the error this morning. Double clicking on the 2006 file worked as expected
with no error message.
