Yes, "Maximize Register View" in Preferences does the same thing as F11.
So no need to re-install.

I didn't try the F11 key but I checkmarked a box somewhere in
Preferences to maximize the Register view. Not sure if that does the
same thing or not.
I've already uninstalled Q2008 and reinstalled Q98 at this point and
have to run errands at the moment but maybe I'll have time to undo and
redo and try again when I get back.

Hi, Bob, Port, Han, John...

Edit | Preferences | Register | "Maximize Register View" is not the same as
F11 - except in Quicken. Elsewhere in Windows/Vista, F11 triggers "Full
Screen" mode.

Windows has 3 ways to make a window fill the whole screen. They may look
the same to us humans, but Windows knows the difference.

1. Maximize - this is the most common version, usually toggled by the
square near the X in the upper right corner.

2. Normal window, stretched (using arrows or mouse) to fill the screen.

3. Full-screen - toggled by pressing the F11 key. This works in most
applications, but not all. When it works, it gets rid of the Title Bar,
Address Bar, Menu Bar and Tool Bar at the top and the Taskbar at the
bottom - and maybe a couple of other features I haven't noticed. As I said,
it is not consistent in all apps.

In Quicken, F11 leaves the Title Bar and Menu Bar and Taskbar, while
eliminating Quicken's Toolbar at the top. But it also eliminates some
horizontal features, such as the Accounts list, which I prefer to keep
onscreen. (Personal preference, of course; yours may vary.)

I have not explored this as much as you folks have, so I'll just drop this
comment and run. But I didn't know about Quicken's use of F11 and thought
maybe some of you might not know about the use of F11 in "generic"
Windows/Vista. ;^}

"I did not know that" ;-)
