I do use Scheduled Updates to download any new transactions but not to make
payments. I recently upgraded from Quicken Deluxe 2006 and it worked as
expected. That is, when there were no errors in the download, the little flag
would appear in the System Tray and doubleclicking on that flag brought be to
the register with no popup status window.
IIRC, that's what the little checkbox on the status window is for - "Don't show
this window if there are no errors."
