I run Q on two systems, a small office desktop and a home desktop, both
with Vista Home Premium. I recently purchased the subject CD and loaded
it on the office system with no problem. It deleted 2007 Quicken H&B,
converted the data file, and registered the program.

An hour or so later, at home, I tried to do the same thing on the home
system. Oddly, the CD is not recognized. If I click on the drive
letter in Windows Explorer, it just opens the door and tells me to load
a disc, even when one is already in there.

I tried two other CDs that load various other programs and there was no
problem.

Is this possibly a security issue that kicked in when I loaded office
system? Or just a defective CD?

I know you're all out there wondering if old Jimbo found a solution to
his problem. Well, the answer is yes and no. I was not able to get the
home system to detect the CD, so....I returned to the office system,
copied the CD to an external hard drive, and installed on the home
system from that. Knew I'd find a use for that external drive (80GB
Iomega), which I found laying in our office building dumpster.
