Realizing that my 80+ year old father has to pay taxes,
I'm entering into Quicken some of his transactions so
I can export to TurboTax.

For his AARP Supplemental Health Insurance, I am
creating a category for it. What Schedule A
line item should I relate it to?

Quicken only has 2 lines for Schedule A-medical expenses. I put mine under
Doctors, Dentists, hospitals. I don't know how TT will deal with that line.

.

TTax seems to handle this okay in the end. If you examine the flow of
data within TTax, the info is first entered into a worksheet. The
worksheet provides for entry of fine detail of medical expenses - a
comprehensive breakdown of doctor expenses, hospital expenses, medical
insurance premiums, etc.. These items then gets totaled and passed on
to Sched A.

Importing from QW creates a single entry for much of this info - no
detail of the breakdown. Have found the end result is ok as to what
finds it's way to Sched A.

I do not import this info into TTax as I prefer to enter the details
for future reference.
