I have a report with a column labeled "Amount Invested". The fly-over
describes this as the "Amount invested, including expenses, excluding
reinvested income". So that seems to mean the money that I bought stock
with and paid brokerage fees etc with.

The important thing to me is this column ignores stock sales. So what
can this number be used for? I haven't looked into it carefully, but I
suspect the "Cost Basis" is more useful to me.

Stubby,
In q06 there's an example of how they use amount invested to create an
accounting type ROI (which is apparently why they track it). Try
searching "calculations, in the Portfolio" in the index tab of help.
