I've only been a client for a couple of months; not much time
for an evaluation. (I was a Legg Mason customer, now absorbed
into Smith Barney.)
I have had no trouble accessing my account information online
(didn't even notice that the name of the web site was Access) -
though I don't like their rules for establishing passwords. I
have not used anything called "Orion".
My downloads (One Step Update) have been problem free (Legg
Mason only offerred Web-Connect downloads, also problem free).
By problem free, I don't mean they always send
transactions/holdings as I think they should be sent ... but I
have found that true of virtually every brokerage/mutual-fund
company I download from, and the "problems" I see are not major.
So far SB seems to be at least as good as the rest.
I am not sure I will like all the details of the way SB does
business, but need more time to really evaluate that. There
were some relatively minor glitches in the transfer of assets,
but nothing I have seen so far to get me upset.
