Attachments and Year End

I just tried to do a year end archive but it seems my attachments didn't
archive with my 2006 data, and my 2007 data was without attachments as well.
How can I start a new year AND retain all my attachments for 2006 and 2007?
(I'm using Quicken 2006)

Why tyhe need to make a new file? Just keep using the old one, but make
sure you have a good backup. Reports is what you need.

After posting my question, I think I found the answer myself ...... If I
use File | Copy, instead of year-end copy, I can make a copy of only the
prior year's data (there's an option to choose the period of time you want)
and save it separate and apart from the rest of the data without losing the
attachments. I did that for 1-1-06 thru 12-31-06 and 1-1-07 thru the last
entry date, renamed the copied '07 data file to 2007, and I'm good to go.

Don't you lose the ability to search last year's activities? I like to
have that ability.

Please don't attach gif files to your postings.

If I want to search a prior year, I just open that year's file.

(I think the .gif attaches automatically.)
