Bank of America Credit Card Updates in WA Dave P. 08-12-2008

I'm using QD2008 on Vista. I bank with Bank of America (BAC)in WA.
Recently I had to switch credit card numbers.(The number of the original
card was stolen.) My original card was on the WA computer system which
allowed me to do one-step updates often. The new card is on some other
(?) computer system that only allows updates by downloading the MONTHLY
statements using either WEB connect or QIF. I was told by the support
person that all new credit cards had to be on the "new" computer system
due to "federal banking regulations."

Also, another nit, I can't simply transfer funds from my checking
account (on the old system) to my new credit card. Instead I must use
their "online banking" bill payer system to transfer money between my
accounts. It is free, but not as convenient as a simple transfer using
one login. For all practical purposes the two BAC computer systems don't
communicate with each other directly.

My question: is anyone getting updates of current charges from BAC
credit cards? If so, how? Also, are you in WA?

Thanks for any comments.

I had the same problem of having to change card numbers.
I simply changed the number on the credit card account in Quicken,
i.e., it is the same account with a different number.

Now when I try to download the credit card statement, Quicken does not
show the credit card account into which I want to download it.

What did you finally do?
