I can't figure this out but I'm sure it's simple.

I have an RMA account that allows me to write checks and use a credit
card, in other words, typical RMA.

They constantly sell shares of their dollar fund to cover purchases
I've made and buy funds with deposits I make, again, typical. What
isn't typical is that unlike other RMA funds these sales and purchases
are shown in the transaction records and prevent me from balancing as
the amounts never seem to add up??????

I've worked around the problem by ignoring (leaving unchecked) all
transactions involving this fund which allows me to balance w/o
problems but I'd really like to be able to hide all such transactions.

Is it possible? If so how?

Meanwhile I'm working on the better option IMHO of how to balance and
include these transactions but so far, that's eluded me also.

YES

At least in transaction, and maybe other, reports.

In the Customize box of a transaction report, under the
Category tab, on the right side, there is a box with the
title "Include Payees". If you enter in this box
~Joe Smith
all transactions with Joe Smith as the payee will be
excluded from the report. Similarly for Categories that you
wish to exclude.

The use of the Tilde (~) to exclude items from a report was
covered in the Help Files of early DOS versions of Q. I am
not sure if it is still in the newer Help Files, but the
functionality still works up through Q2009.

Thanks, but what I'm asking has nothing to do with reports* and the
customize option isn't in the register nor the balance screen which is
where I need it to be...

Oddly enough, in all the years I've used Quicken I've never created a
report, never had any use for that function at all!
