Can't edit Future Paycheques Noozer 08-25-2007

I'm using Quicken 2005 GX....

I have my paycheque set up in Quicken in the Scheduled Transaction list. It
has been working well.

I recently added a new deduction to my paycheque and want to update the
transaction in Quicken. I use the Add After-Tax Deduction to add the new
deduction, but when I click the Done button I'm told "The net deposit must
not be negative."

I found that even if I just open the scheduled transaction for editing, make
no changes, and click the Done button I see the same warning.

Is it not possible to edit a scheduled paycheque transaction?

Do you mean "Quicken 2005 XG"?

It is in the US version of Quicken.

Perhaps you have a corrupted Scheduled paycheck transaction.
Try deleting and re-entering it.

Yes. I always get it backwards.

Tried this, but no change.

Adding new transactions works, but trying to edit them afterwards is
pointless.

Just to show what I'm trying to do, I've posted an image, including the
warning, at:

http://members.shaw.ca/linkto/Quicken/Quicken.jpg (106 kB)

That is what happens when I try to edit an existing Paycheque series. The
edit shown on this picture was to add the "Stock Purchase (ESPP)" after tax
deduction. None of the other entries on the form were touched.

I can add new transactions, but editing them afterwards will have the same
issue.

Any workarounds for this?

FWIW, we're waiting for Quicken 2008 here in Canada, at which time we will
upgrade.

According to how I read your image, you have no income - just deductions.
The message seems reasonable to me.
