Thanks..
I did get a response from Quicken but their answer dealt with Zip Disks and
did not speak to my issues.
On my own I did exactly what you suggested... and it worked!

I think they have an issue with the new version of Quicken when you attempt
to start a newly installed copy of the program by saying that you are an
existing Q user,
