For users running Quicken 2003 and higher

Choose the desired month's statement from the bill date pull-down menu.

Click the "View" button.
Click on the Download to Quicken box to download a file ending in
'.QFX'.
Quicken will ask you to select the appropriate account or enter new
account information.
Once the transfer is complete, you can edit the downloaded transactions
before accepting the transactions into your Quicken Register.
Your download is now complete.
If the Quicken window in step 4 does not appear, you should see a
window asking to 'Open', 'Save', or 'Cancel'.
Select 'Save'.
Choose a location to save the statement.
Click 'Save'.
Open Quicken and import the file.

The key word is STATEMENT. Until you have a statement, you can't
download and this means you basically can only download once per month.

Thanks for your help, but this sounds very rudimentary compared what many
other credit cards do. First, I cannot download "recent activity" daily
or weekly. Second, I have to save the statement and then import it rather
than directly "open" it. Other credit cards (Amex, dicover, chase, etc.)
have much more elegant solutions! This alone turns me off CapitalOne.
