I have an existing Investment Acct (mutual fund) and I want to add a cash
contributions line to that particular account. I recently signed up to have
a monthly EFT draw from my checking account to buy additional shares of this
mutual fund, but have not been able to add a cash contributions line. If I
transfer the EFT from my checking directly into the fund as a "transfer to
xyz fund" it increases the balance of the fund by that amount, but does not
reflect the number of additional shares bought or the price per share.

(Using Quicken XG 2006) I can do a transfer from chequing, which increases
balance of fund, then a purchase transaction is required in the fund to
reflect the asset acquired.
The same thing can be done in only one step by doing a BoughtX in the fund
account, and use the chequing account as the transfer-from account.

Hope this helps,
vcard
