I am having trouble getting categories in a split transactions to show up on
a category report using Quicken 2002 under Windows XP.

For example, I enter a check to Walmart in the register with 3 categories in
the split window

Category Memo Amount

Household:Maintenance 125.00
Medial:Prescription 32.00
Household:Yard 73.00

The correct total shows up in the register but when I run a category report,
the entries for each of the split items do not show up the categories in the
report.

What do I need to do to make Quicken 2002 show the split category entries.

Thank you

Do you mean the Itemized Categories report? If so, I can't duplicate the
problem. My splits show up -- they even include an 'S' in the Num column to show
they are part of a split.

What does show up in the report? One line for the entire transaction, or
nothing? If nothing, check to see that you've asked for those categories to be
displayed (the Categories tab under Customize).

Thank you Fred. I found the problem -- Operator Error. When I looked at
the Category report and found the split item missing, I found I had not yet
posted the transaction by using Enter or clicking on another transaction. I
should have noticed the Balance had not changed before I jumped to
conclusion the split did not appear. It's hell to get old.

Thanks again.
