Check Printing Font Peter 01-26-2007

In Quicken 2007 Basic I changed the font for printing checks to Arial Bold
11 points. When I print a check everything prints in that font except for
the amount. The amount still prints in whatever the old default font was.
How do I get Everything (including the amount) to print using the font I
select?

I'm using Quicken voucher checks. WinXP Pro.

John:
Thanks for the reply. That explains it. Apparently the font I want to
use conforms to the new "Check 21" rules because I have been using it on
all of my personal and business checks up until about a week ago and have
never had any problems with it. But I now understand why Quicken does
what it does with the font.

Speaking of "Check 21" I have one other question related to that. Another
provision of Check 21 is a new location for the Memo line near the lower
left of a check. The memo line on my newest voucher checks from Quicken
is raised up about a quarter-inch compared to where it was on my old
checks (printed pre Check 21 rules). The problem I have now is that
Quicken still prints any memo text in the old pre-Check 21 location. Is
there any way to deal with that?

Odd. What little I've read on the subject led me to believe
that only folks with old checks (or new checks and older Quicken
versions) would have a problem with the location of fields. And
I don't print checks in Quicken so I have no experience.

In the Check Printer Setup dialog, there is an "Align" button.
It's possible that you could fiddle with the vertical alignment
and make some improvements ... or not: I think it moves
everything, not just certain fields; but sometimes you can make
a compromise with an option like this that makes things a bit
better. (There is some info on the process in Help, Search,
under "What should I do if the date or logo gets cut off".)

You could also try Intuit tech-support or the Quicken forums if
no one here has a better answer.

John:

As you said, the Align feature does move everything. I need to move just
the memo text up about a quarter-inch. I can't believe I'm the only one
having this problem. (I did not have this problem until I got my new
checks from Quicken about a month ago. The new checks have the raised
Memo line.)
