Confused With Q2009 Register Fields JB 09-19-2008

Hi,

I just upgraded from Q2006 to Q2009 Premier and had no installation
problems.

But the register now contains two fields for splits. I enter a split
transaction in the normal fashion and add tags (tags are new to me). After
I enter the transaction, there are two fields labeled "-split-".

The leftmost field contains the information I put in but I can't get the
right "-split-" field to divulge anything.

My question is, what is it's purpose and how do I make it do whatever it's
supposed to do?

Thanks,

Mike

The "tags" are split now between what used to be categories and classes.
It is supposed to be better, but I am rusted in my ways and used the
option to turn of the second tag display, so now all is back to where it
used to be.

I am using tags and they show in the left "-split-" field with split
transactions but the right "split-" field" contains no information. If it
does nothing, it's a distraction that should be removed IMO.

One person's distraction, is another person's information. And
how would you remove a column for some transactions, but not
others?

If you don't like the tag field visible in the register, you can
remove it for all transactions in all registers:

Edit > Preferences > Quicken Program > Register

Uncheck the box, "Show Tag field".
