Custom report - securities with an "account" Gwen Morse 04-15-2007

Using Quicken 2004 H&B

I'm trying to do a report that lists my income and buy totals for each
of my DRIP stock funds.

I have multiple stocks ("securities") each listed within a single
"account" (Drip Stock).

I've been fiddling with the custom reports trying to get them to list
my investments for the year neatly broken down in a list "descending"
down the page. I can't get it to work.

I can get it to list the buys and income for the entire "account",
but, it won't sub-total by security. If I do a report that shows each
security, it lists them across the "top" of the page (forcing me to
print it landscape mode), and since that's not wide enough for all my
stocks (10 securities), it cuts the last couple off.

What I'd like is something that looks vaguely like this:

Investment Report

StockA _DivInc 2.29
StockA BuyX 100.17
StockB _DivInc 1.19
StockB BuyX 200.00

It can look prettier than that, but, that's the gist of what I'm
trying to print out.

Try ('m using Q2007, but similar steps worked in Q2004 and Q2002)--

Reports & Graphs > Investment Transactions

Then Customize "Display" Tab to select
>> Date Range
>> Subtotal By

"Accounts" Tab to select DRIP Account or Accounts

"Securities" Tab to select specific securities, otherwise Mark All

It will produce a report showing "Cash Transfers In" at the top,
followed by a security by security report, each security separately
sorted by date showing purchases, sales, reinvested dividends, and for
each transaction, the price per share, number of shares etc.

Thank you for this suggestion, but, it's actually more specific than I
want.

It lists every transaction over the timeframe I choose.

What I'd like to do is choose a year ("Last Year" works).

I'd like to see how much cash I invested in Stock A. I'd like to see
what dividends stock A paid. Both those numbers as a total.

Then, I'd like to see the amount of cash I invested in Stock B, and
what dividends Stock B paid. That's all.

What I'm looking for is the nearest equivalent to the following report
listed on the web site of a mutual fund I own:

The market value of your account is $1,623.13.
You own 156.0700 shares valued on 04/13/2007 at $10.40 per share.

Category         Total for 2006
Purchases         $300.00
Dividends         $31.44
Long-term capital gains        $30.65
Short-term capital gains        $0.00
Total earnings:        $62.09

Now, what I'd like is something that can do a simple column total of
my assorted stock accounts.

So, Aflac gets a total like above. Then Johnson and Johnson. And so
on...

Here's a repost of what I originally asked. Hopefully it makes more
sense now:
