Deluxe 2008 Backup to CDRW get error Device is Read only this worked under 2006

I installed quicken deluxe 2008 & upgraded to release 9. I
attempted to backup to a CDRW using the backup function of quicken.
(this is the way i backed up my files when using quicken deluxe 06)
I selected the option to add the date to the backup file name.
when i try to do the backup i get an error "choose another device.
this device is read only". there is plenty of space left on CDRW &
i can write to it with other software in this device.

Any ideas on what is going wrong?

Intuit has been breaking CD backup in every version since about 2004. I
downloaded "Karen's Replicator", and I now use that. It has many
options, and works reliably. It also has the advantage of being free.
