Did Bank of America Change Something? Cranky Dude 10-22-2007

Yesterday I tried about five times to do an Online update of my Bank of
America credit card, downloading to Quicken Deluxe 2006, and each time
Quicken tried to create a new account called "Credit card for Bank of
America Other States." There was no option to import data into the
existing account. I had to manually enter all the data off my statement.

Did BoA change something so that it isn't recognized? Even if they did
change something, why doesn't Q2006 Deluxe let me specify which account
to import data into? That option was grayed out. What can I do to
match BoA to the existing account?

Thanks!

If Quicken doesn't know which account the downloaded
transactions are for, you can not tell Quicken to use an account
that is already activated for downloading.

Make sure the account you want Quicken to assign the
transactions to is Deactivated for transaction download.

Thanks John. BoA is not one of my accounts that is activated for
transaction download because BoA doesn't work that way. BoA requires
Web Connect for updating. However, when I get home, I'll take a look at
my accounts just to make sure.

Since when? My BoA accounts (checking, savings & credit cards) all are
downloading transactions using Direct connect method. I don't use the web
connect for updating. They are a Bank of America; Other states set of
accounts.

Have you tried activating it for downloading instead of using the web
connect?

BofA has rules that vary by region, but in many states (BofA-All
Other States, for example), Direct downloads cost extra (minimum
balance requirements are an "extra" cost).
