I don't use renaming rules, and Quicken doesn't ask me if I want
it to rename or to create a renaming rule.
I control this using Online > Renaming Rules. There are a
couple of options at the bottom of the Renaming Rules dialog:
one telling Quicken not to "use" renaming rules when processing
downloaded transactions; the other telling Quicken not to
"create" renaming rules when processing downloaded transactions.
I think you want both of those options to be "Off". If the "do
not use renaming rules" option is "Off", the "do not create
renaming rules" option is inaccessible ... and it may be "On".
If so, you can temporarily turn on the "use renaming rules"
option, turn off the "create renaming rules", then turn off the
"use renaming rules".
