I've got an opportunity to get Quicken Home & Business 2008 from a
friend who doesn't need H&B. I really don't need H&B, either, is it
possible to use the CD to install Deluxe instead? I know all versions
are on the CD but I'm not sure if changing to a lower version can be
done.

I can't find anything about this on Google or Intuit's website, am I
the only one with this question?

Just install the H&B version. If you don't use the extra features, you will
not have a problem if you 'downgrade' to deluxe at a future point.

Thanks for the reply but I don't want more than I need and, while I'd
not be paying for the extras, I'd prefer to purchase the lesser version
even if it costs me more.

I recently got a copy of Quicken 2007 basic and replaced my Quicken
2007 Deluxe with it. I really prefer the basic and I'll probably just
not upgrade to 2008 if I can't find out how to install a more basic
version. The person who currently owns the 2008 H&B says she can't
figure out how to remove all the extras so I was hoping maybe it could
be done during install, if not I'll probably pass on the deal.

Thanks again!
