Is it possible to patch Q'06 to download from the '08 server?

I use '06 and it's been quite a while since the quotes were complete.
And the 52-week highs and lows? Good only for a laugh.

I weas thinking about this.

Knowing the IP address of qw2008.quicken.com = 65.197.236.97
One could place an entry in the etc/hosts file to redirect an older version of
Quicken to a
different server. Of course the IP address could be hard coded into the
application.

The only question is will the server accept the communication stream and will
there be
detrimental problems concerning program updates.
