Please log in for more thread options Today I started having problems downloading transactions from Washington
Mutual. I am using QW 2006, and get the error message "Unable to confirm
financial institution information. Try again later." from Quicken itself, when
it processes the QFX file. I last downloaded successfully on Jan 14, 2007. I
noticed that WAMU changed the download portion of their website (sometime
between Jan 14 and Jan 21) to insert a new confirmation step. Whatever other
changes they made I don't know. The Quicken 2006 support site recognizes the
error message, and says one of the following is the problem:
1. System clock is incorrect on my computer (it's not).
2. Back-level Quicken version prior to 2002. (Duh. No, it's QW 2006.)
3. Financial institution information is corrupted. Deactivate online services
for the account and then reactivate.
Hmmm, uh... ok. (No.3), I looked at the QFX file and compared the info to the
"Account Overview" section in Quicken for the subject account, and it all
matches. What happens when I "deactivate" online services (it's my primary
checking account)? The Quicken web site does not say anything about what I am
letting myself in for. Does anybody know? It's been so long ago that I
activated the service that I don't remember the process (is there a delay, do I
have to talk to somebody at the FI, will I lose any of my current FI data on
Quicken... etc etc.)
Help!
