I just did a test where I moved a report I created and saved
from the report folder I created, to the "generic" Quicken saved
reports folder: I didn't see any problem when I tried to display
the resulting report.

That is: I saved a report in the default Quicken folder for
saved reports and printed it with no problem; then I moved that
saved report to a report folder I created, printed the report
successfully; then moved the report from the folder I created,
back to the default Quicken report folder, and printed the
report again ... successfully.

Where did I not track what you did?

I'm not following the specific problem you are experiencing.
Can you supply some additional information?

Sounds like you did what I was trying. It just doesn't work for me.
There are a variety of things malfunctioning but the one I can
specifically remember is that when trying to move a report out of a
named folder into the generic "non folder", the report simply
disappears [from any folder]

I think I have some major corruption in the file in the reports area,
altho Validate doesn't pick it up. I used an existing report to
create a new report with dates covering this year and when I saved it,
the comments area had the name of a totally different report which I
have in use for my 2007 income and expenses. That report is working,
but only because I have it in my 2007 reportsfolder on the toolbar.
(If I select it individually, it does nothing at all from the
toolbar). Why its name should suddenly appear in the comment field
of a totaly different report which I was creating indicates something
is really rotten in Denmark. Which version are you running, by the
way? I'm on Q H&B 2006.

For my previous posts, I used Q2008 Premier, R3.

This morning, I also tried the same thing in Q2007 Premier, R5 -
and it worked there also.

[I don't have Q006 installed.]

Can you duplicate your problem in a New Quicken file?

I will try to creat a new file and duplicate the problem, but I bet
you anything it will work in a new file because I really think I've
got corruption. Shame I can't export report definitions. That's how
you helped me solve a severe problem in my address book months ago.
It also was not picked up by Validate.

I think this started with introducing folders and would dearly love
to get back to the point whenI installed them, but I don't think there
is a way to do that without losing all my reports or a lot of data
entry. I'm also going to experiment with the setting of "create a
new report on customizing" and see if I can get a functionally
identical report which is not in a folder under a new name.
Heretofore, I've always been able to customize an existing report and
replace it under the same name. Can't do that now. Get two samed
name reports (in or outside a folder) and deleting one deletes both.
