Is this true? Seems to be, from searching here,
on quickencommunity.com and The Google.

Wow..... what a poor choice.... you mean I can't
download data intra-month? I like getting 2% cash
back, but not at the expense of having to wait a
month to download transactions.

I can't speak for your particular card, but this practice is not uncommon.
And I suspect it's going to get more common.

What's the rationale for it becomming more common?

Or is it just a result of card-issuer conglomeration?

Since they have to have the infrastructure there
anyway, where is the savings? I can see the transactions
online daily, and I can download them monthly, so obviously they
have the database backend for select and display, and
they have the quicken formatter already built.

It's a completely retarded business decision, and
I'll be dropping that card (or, even worse for them,
keeping it and just (ab)using the 0% checks I'm
sure will be arriving soon........)
