For some reason I cannot get mutual fund transactions to function. The
entry works just fine but when I click on "Done" - nothing happens.
This has always worked for me in the past so it isn't that I am
unfamiliar with the procedure. Obviously, I am doing something wrong or
the software is broken. Can someone please put me back on track.

Hi, RHG.

First obvious question: Which version of Quicken? And it wouldn't hurt to
mention operating system.

Second, how is your fund account set up in Quicken? As a Single Mutual
Fund? Or a regular broker account? Or what?

Third, what kind of transactions? Dividends? Sales?

And, finally, step by step, how are you making the entry? And exactly what
happens? (Yes, I know you said "nothing happens"; I'm just asking exactly
what happens BEFORE nothing happens.)

After making all necessary entries into the transaction dialog box, I
press enter and all boxes are cleared. In other words, no entry is made.

I fill in all the necessary boxes in the dialog box and press enter.
All boxes are reset to blank

Hi, Dick.

Thanks for filling in all those blanks. Now I have a better understanding
of the question. But I still have a couple of questions.

>> Third, what kind of transactions? Dividends? Sales?
> Sale of Mutual Fund (actually it is a fund within an Annuity

A fund within an annuity within a broker account? I'm not sure I understand
the mechanics of this. Perhaps there is no entry for you to make; all
transactions occur within the annuity and you should record only purchases
and sales of the annuity itself. This is quite different from owning the
mutual fund shares directly. Could you clarify this point for us?

>> And, finally, step by step, how are you making the entry?
> Transaction dialog box

Which kind of transaction box? "Sell - Shares Sold"? (That's what Q2008
says; I don't recall clearly if Q2006 has the same label.) What happened to
the cash you received; did it stay in the annuity or in your broker
account - or did you get a check?

I agree that it sounds strange that pressing Enter/Done would clear all the
boxes in the transaction wizard. Could you give us some sample numbers to
illustrate?
