At some point I had all the prices of the mutual funds in the variable
annuity disappear - all went to zero. I struggled with this for some
time and eventually I got an error message that said that I could not
retrieve the data because of a missing file (which it named but I did
not record). It then stated that I should re-install Quicken, which I
did. This removed all my backups in my Quicken folder, but fortunately
I had backups on another hard drive and on DVD Anyway, this problem has
not recurred since then.
However, when I restored the backup I was again missing the prices
(which I had on a paper copy from the broker). That seems stable now
but I do wonder why they were disappearing. Hopefully, it is the
missing file which is now restored.
Thanks for your interest and help.
