Hi,

I just discovered that anyone who is a customer of State Farm Insurance
Co. may download a free copy of TurboTax Deluxe with one State or a copy
of TurboTax Premier for $20. And if you use TurboTax online you get
free online filing. Apparently this is not the first year they are
offering this because on the State Farm website they say "Once again
State Farm is offering free tax software." I don't know if this is
advertised or not but I've been purchasing my insurance from State Farm
for about 10 years and this is the first I'm hearing of this.

To take advantage of the free software you have to log into your State
Farm account on the State Farm web site and on the left nav menu there
is a link for "free tax software." The link doesn't specify that the
free tax software is TurboTax but if you click on the link it takes you
to the TurboTax website. If you file using the online version then
every time you log in to work on your taxes you have to log in via the
State Farm website to continue working on your taxes.

I must be missing something. I see a link for "free tax filing" , " organize
your family information software", and "create your own medical ID card" but
no entry for "free tax software"..

Click on "free tax filing" - it'll take you to TurboTax. There would
be options to do your taxes online or download free software. E-filing
options will vary depending on your choice.

The fee for e-File is charged if use downloaded software.
If doing your tax online - there's no fee for e-File, I believe.
