Seems like anytime I have my bank, BofA, make a payment lately they send it
by mail over four or more days. I used to see them make a electronic xfer in
one day. Even changing the address for a insurance payment causes this. Is
there some way I am setting up the transaction incorrectly?

So, what does your bank charge you for paying a bill?

Contact the bank or the payee to find out whether a change is really
necessary. Often the phsical address of the payee is not important for an
electronic payment.

Also ask the bank whether they will guarantee payment on time. In the
early days, when I was using $ & cents, Citibank would guarantee payment on
time if you used their software (Direct Access) to schedule payments, and
that worked for me.

Will follow up on your first suggestion but in at least one case the change
was necessary as the company was bought out.
I schedule payments in plenty of time and do so thru Quicken not at the
Banks site. The money is not withdrawn from my account until the scheduled
payment date.
Methinks I am doing something stupid as I remember seeing a list of
companies payable by online transfer but cannot get to that thru quicken
now.

Thanks
Mel
