I am certain that prices do not come from Quicken.com, and I'm
pretty sure that the news doesn't come from there either.

I'm pretty sure your financial alerts are setup at Quicken.com.
I think Quicken has to successfully read what you have at
Quicken.com to provide the alerts.

Have you logged on to Quicken.com recently (from within Quicken:
Online > Quicken on the web > Quicken.com)? Have you verified
that you (sitll) have alerts setup at Quicken.com? Is
Quicken.com setup for your current Quicken file (one Quicken
file per Quicken.com logon)?

Okay, what I realized after going to Quicken.com as you suggested was that
in the OneStep Update window that pops up when I click on the Update button
in Quicken, I had somehow left off the checkmark next to the box that reads
"Update my portfolio on Quicken.com". This was causing my portfolio to not
be updated on Quicken.com, which meant all the alerts were old leftovers
from the last time that box was checked! Now that I'm updating my portfolio
on Quicken.com, the alerts are all current and the problem is solved!
Thanks John, for pointing me in the right direction!

After reading this thread, I realized that I have not seen new alerts
for months in any of the accounts in my portfolio. My few alerts are
all July 05 and 06. I am, heowever, getting headlines.

In the OneStep Update window, both "Download quotes, asset classes,
headlines and alerts" and "Update my portfolio on Quicken.com" are
checked. I have gone into Quicken.com and there are alerts next to
some of the stocks which are not showing up on the portfolio view of
Quicken.

Any ideas what I can do to receive updated alerts?

I am using Quicken 2005 Deluxe Release 6.

Thank you.

Can you explain exactly how you got "into Quicken.com"? Did you
get there from within Quicken (using Online > Quicken on the web
> Quicken.com), or did you start in Windows Explorer, outside of
Quicken?

If I'm understanding you correctly ("My few alerts are all July
05 and 06 ..."), actually no current alerts are showing up in
Quicken ... rather than "some" current alerts not showing up.
Is that correct? (A security that should have displayed an
alert in March of 2007, but whose last Quicken alert was dated
July 2006, is just as much "not showing up" as a security which
should have displayed an alert in March of 2007, but which has
no alert showing up in Quicken at all.)

Have you looked at

Tools > Setup Alerts > Investing > Price and Volume

to see if that box is checked?

I replied to this message a few hours ago, but my message seems to be
lost someplace in cyberspace, so will try again.

I went from Quicken to get to Quicken.com.

Yes.

This is it! The box was not checked, and I have now checked it and it
works perfectly. I also chose the option of keeping alerts for only a
week, so the old alerts I mentioned originally are now gone.

Thank you so much for your help and solving my problem.
