Thanks John. That was a great idea - but it didn't work....but I commend
you for that thinking - seemed good to me when I read it!
Comng back to the selection menu still ended up with the same set of
accounts, including all those I had just made 'dummy' accounts for that I
was going to delete if your idea worked.
BUT - I did find out how to do it, but in a roundabout way. At least, so
far, so good. Here's how - this might not work for everyone, since the fix
was outside of Quicken and might not be able to be done by others if they
have this same problem....
In my FI's **webpage** (when viewing accounts online with their web-based
session), when viewing a particular account, there is a DOWNLOAD button, and
you get to select what type of download you want (Microsoft OFX, Comma
Delimited, QIF, etc.) ; there's even a Quicken OFX (!). So I used that
while viewing this new account I wanted to establish (that only had my
single $5 initial 'seed' deposit in it that I made Saturday), and lo and
behold, it asked me what account in Quicken to associated this with (I had
Quicken open in another window); selecting the new account that I had
created worked, and upon a subsequent direct download, seems to be ok, and
in the list after I view it via ONLINE SUMMARY. It also is listed as
'ACTIVATED' in the ACCOUNTs list for online access.
(I was in a chat session with someone from Intuit for over an hour, still
not sure if she really understood what I was trying to do despite my quoting
her the error message from Quicken THREE times!)
