Have been receiving "placeholder" notices when d/l trx from broker.
Would take note of them but said no don't enter (figured I'd worry about it
later...).
Well it's now later<g> - a sale is saying not enough shares to sell for two
of the symbols involved.
I've figured out what's wrong and guess I know what needs to be done but am
uncertain about exactly what to do.
The trx for symbols involved (there's four of them) were all splits 10:10,
4:4, 12:12 and 8:8 but no "amounts" were d/l'ed.
It seems that I have to put some sort of an amount on them but I'm not sure
what amount.
Do I take the original total purchase amounts and reapportion for the new
total number of shares or do I use some other amount?
I'm not an investment type but some thing has to be there to have Cap G/L
come out right. The four trx involved are all mutual fund shares if that
matters.
Any insights would be appreciated.
Thx.
